Hi, I’m Bobbie — mountain dweller, off-grid homesteader, animal lover, and mama living 100% off the grid on a 100-acre ranch in the wild.

Over a decade ago, I traded city life for a horse ranch tucked deep in the wilderness. Today, I live completely off the grid with my son, our animals, and a deep love for a slower, more intentional way of life — supported by my partner, who works away for long stretches but is fully part of this life we’ve built together.

Meet the Family (Yes, Even the Horse)

When I say “we,” I mean:

  • Me (doing most of the work while my partner’s away for long stretches)
  • My partner — who works away from home for two months at a time, then returns for two weeks to help and recharge with us. His support makes this lifestyle possible, and when he’s here, he jumps right in.
  • Our 10-year-old son
  • Two dogs, two cats, one very affectionate horse
  • And a crew of retired pack horses and rescues roaming our land

I manage most of our homestead solo, but this life has taught me how capable I really am — and how freeing it can be to live outside the norm.
